Are Boudoir Photoshoots awkward? | Orange County Boudoir Photography

November 4, 2025

Okay listen, I understand, I get it, the thought of Boudoir is insanely intimidating, right? What do you mean I have to pay money to get undressed in front of a complete stranger, when I’m already self conscious about my body, then I have to get into outfits I’ve never even thought about wearing before, I’m vulnerable, I’m not covered up like I’m used to, and I’m doing this…. on purpose?!

Trust me, I get it. I’ve had thousands (literally) of women walk through my doors terrified to death of the experience.

But they all have one thing in common… they are fighting through the feeling of being awkward but trusting the process because they want so deeply to learn to love the skin that they reside in.

The longing of the idea that these women could love their bodies truly is greater than the fear they have to break through to do it.

Now, to the nitty gritty… are Boudoir Photoshoots awkward?

The answer is kind of.
But not in the way you are picturing.
When you book your session, you’ll have so many feelings; excitement, nervousness, terrified, giddy, petrified and mortified all at once.

The thing you need to remember, is that even though you FEEL awkward, doesn’t mean the session with us is going to be.

Almost every single client goes through these ups and downs when it comes to how they feel in regards to their boudoir session before it happens, and after the session, they always wonder why they were so scared to begin with.

You have to remember, you aren’t left to your own devices to ‘figure it out’. You have me, and I’m going to LITERALLY take you through step by step and you don’t have to worry about anything.

Your only responsibility? Show up.

I’ll handle the rest… legit.

We handle your hair and makeup, I walk you through our client closet where we pick outfits together, I not only SHOW you each pose, but I’ll help position you into the poses. Babe, you just need to show up, and the awkwardness that you feel fades away almost immediately.
